Our Programs

All of the Columbus Police Foundation’s programs are designed to further our mission of strengthening the Columbus Police Division through enhanced training, technology, and community relations.

DC Trips: Every year, dozens of members of the Police Division embark on a powerful trip to our nation’s capital to discover the lessons of the past. 

Community Engagement Center:

The new mobile Center for Learning, Understanding, and Engagement (CLUE) will offer innovative, state-of-the-art exhibitions and outreach programs to build bridges across communities.

White Hats

White Hats provides assistance to the families of actively-employed officers during times of need. 

Tourniquets

The Columbus Police Foundation has provided life-saving tourniquets to hundreds of officers in the Columbus Division of Police.

Projects that the Police Foundation has already supported:

  • Tourniquets (Multiple lives have already been saved!)

  • US Holocaust Memorial Museum and the National African-American Museum of History and Culture in Washington, D.C. training visits 

  • Refreshments and food for CPD events such as: Community Dialogues in Columbus neighborhoods, CPD’s 200-year anniversary celebration, annual recruiting EXPOs, and hosting CALEA re-accreditation assessors

  • Franklin Covey training for approximately 100 Division leaders titled: "Diversity-Centered Leadership" 

  • Support for the Division’s Law Enforcement United bike ride to the Police Memorial in Washington D.C.

  • Materials to provide to students who have attended youth programs such as the Police Exploration Camp

  • Steven M. Smith Memorial Fund (from White Hats)

  • CPD badge pins for children for distribution at community events

  • Development of a Center for Learning, Understanding and Engagement 

  • Equipment for vehicles used by new K-9 Therapy dogs
